Starting from Scratch

It felt good.

Today was the first time in eight weeks I did some exercise.

It wasn’t much, just 15 minutes on my recumbent stationary bike, and at quite a slow pace.

Even though it felt like I was starting all over, it felt good.

It will take a while to get back to my desired fitness level, but that’s fine with me.

That’s part of the reason why I enjoy exercise, watching the gradual improvement in my health over time.

Plus, there’s all those stats I can check.

  1. It must be good to be back. I take one day off from walking, and I miss it. I just started some physical therapy for my arthritic back. I’m not in a great deal of pain, but it’s always there. Getting older is not for the faint of heart.

  2. I am glad to see you are back to full duty. I am sure you missed your routine of daily exercise. I am just glad that you are well and back to being able to work out. Are there exercise bands in your future?

  3. Like Peter alluded… it’s fun until it’s not. Decades of long distance running, tennis and some genetics have wrecked my ankles to where at age 61, even regular walking is painful and awkward. Regardless, I have great memories of personal triumphs and that will need to suffice.

  4. I had a stationary bike once, but for some reason I never seemed to make any progress. And the computer on it was faulty. It would say I had traveled so many miles, when it seemed like I’d gone nowhere at all. I finally gave that damn bike away.

    Glad you’re feeling better.
