It felt good.
Today was the first time in eight weeks I did some exercise.
It wasn’t much, just 15 minutes on my recumbent stationary bike, and at quite a slow pace.
Even though it felt like I was starting all over, it felt good.
It will take a while to get back to my desired fitness level, but that’s fine with me.
That’s part of the reason why I enjoy exercise, watching the gradual improvement in my health over time.
Plus, there’s all those stats I can check.
I can relate. It always feels good.

It must be good to be back. I take one day off from walking, and I miss it. I just started some physical therapy for my arthritic back. I’m not in a great deal of pain, but it’s always there. Getting older is not for the faint of heart.

I am glad to see you are back to full duty. I am sure you missed your routine of daily exercise. I am just glad that you are well and back to being able to work out. Are there exercise bands in your future?

thanks, Brad. It did feel good to be doing something. And I think I’ve retired those exercise bands… π

Like Peter alluded… itβs fun until itβs not. Decades of long distance running, tennis and some genetics have wrecked my ankles to where at age 61, even regular walking is painful and awkward. Regardless, I have great memories of personal triumphs and that will need to suffice.

I know that feeling; I used to love to run, but sadly my knees can no longer take it. And yes, thank heaven for memories…

I had a stationary bike once, but for some reason I never seemed to make any progress. And the computer on it was faulty. It would say I had traveled so many miles, when it seemed like I’d gone nowhere at all. I finally gave that damn bike away.
Glad you’re feeling better.

I have the same problem; the GPS on my phone tells me I havenβt gone anywhere, despite all that huffing and puffing. I guess itβs a metaphor for my life…

Good to see youβre back in the saddle. Just stay away from the dangerous stuff…

Thanks, Clive. The biggest danger I have is falling off my bike, which would be quite sad if that happened, given that itβs not moving at all!

Yay for getting back to exercising, my son misses it terribly if he can’t do it. It is good for health and sanity. Walking on the beach is my favorite type of exercise. π

So true, and if you bought me a beach house you would be contributing to me getting healthy exercise! Can’t argue with that, can you! π

Stay with it! With the weather warming up, I have been trying to switch from my indoor bike to outside walking. Some of my leg muscles have been protesting the change.

I agree, the hard part is getting started and then getting into a routine. You’ve got a lot on your plate – good luck!
