Thank You, Haverford College!

One of our favorite places to walk is a 2.2-mile nature trail at nearby Haverford College.

Unfortunately, the campus had been closed to visitors this past year, which meant no nature trail.

But then on June 1, the college announced that visitors would be permitted back on campus with some restrictions. However, there were no restrictions on the use of the trail, so today my son and I headed out to the trail.

Here is the sign that greeted us:

It’s a beautiful trail around the perimeter of the college and through the heart of the college arboretum. There is also a stream next to the trail in certain parts, and a lake as well. We stopped for a bit and saw a couple of turtles out for a swim.

Despite the sun and heat, a good portion of the trail is shaded, so it was the perfect place to be.

In other words, 2.2 miles of happiness.

So thank you, Haverford, for opening up your campus again.

We shall return…

  1. Looks like a great trail to explore and enjoy. My son and I walk on a nearby greenway trail that is about the same distance. Our pace is one hour to cover the 4 miles out and back. The beauty of the trail helps me keep up the pace.
