What a week.
In the span of four days last week, four babies were born to people we know.
First, it was my wife’s niece, followed the next day by my wife’s cousin’s daughter, then by our next-door neighbor, and finally by a good friend of my wife’s niece. Thankfully all the moms and babies are doing well, and my wife has been busy picking out gifts on Amazon. (I’m going to try and sneak an iPad into her shopping cart…)
I think the four babies should all get together about 18 months from now and re-enact the following:
By the way, one of the moms told us that she had to get tested for COVID-19 as part of the process. She said it was worse than having the baby.
If that’s not enough to keep you quarantined, I don’t know what is…
Congratulations to all the families – I wish you the best of luck!

Wow! Lots of babies. The video is adorable 🤣 Congratulations on all the wee ones.
I feel awful that this test can be described as worse than labor. That is really unfortunate. We have got to find a better way.

the video is great, and I agree about the test. I’ve heard rumors of a kinder, gentler version…

My goodness! That IS a lot of baby bundles. So glad everyone is doing well. . . I cannot imagine giving birth in a hospital during a pandemic! 🕊

I am sure all the families were nervous because of the pandemic, that’s why it’s so wonderful that they are all doing well!

Sounds horrifying. I think I’ll be super stress if I was to get tested while pregnant or after birth.
But wow, 4 babies… you got lot of gifts to prepare. Good luck! 😉

thanks, Jessica. And I agree, that test sounds barbaric. Let’s hope they come out with one that is not so painful…

That’s quite a baby streak! I’ve seen that YouTube clip before, and it’s one of my favorites. One year I had a remarkable thing happen with three of my twenty students born on the same day. There were a pair of twin girls and one boy. What made the story more remarkable was that the two moms didn’t know each other before giving birth to their babies and became the closest of friends.

I love the video as well.
we became great friends with two other couples in our Lamaze class; all of us were having our first child. 37 years later, and we are still great friends with them…

Those babies can barely walk bu they got hugging down pat. Congratulations to all of the moms and dads.

thanks, John. I was also impressed by the fact that it looks like they had just learned to walk, but that did not stop them from all that hugging!

Congratulations to all the proud parents! What a unique coincidence of timing. (If you can, slip a pair of Air Buds in with your iPad, they will come in handy) Charming video and great post, Jim! I have heard discussions that this lockdown may be the catalyst for the next baby boom.

I will be curious about what the birth rate looks like in nine months as well. And thanks for the heads-up with the Air Buds – I’ll see what I can do! 🙂
