One of our favorite places to walk is a 2.2-mile nature trail at nearby Haverford College.
Unfortunately, the campus had been closed to visitors this past year, which meant no nature trail.
But then on June 1, the college announced that visitors would be permitted back on campus with some restrictions. However, there were no restrictions on the use of the trail, so today my son and I headed out to the trail.
Here is the sign that greeted us:
It’s a beautiful trail around the perimeter of the college and through the heart of the college arboretum. There is also a stream next to the trail in certain parts, and a lake as well. We stopped for a bit and saw a couple of turtles out for a swim.
Despite the sun and heat, a good portion of the trail is shaded, so it was the perfect place to be.
In other words, 2.2 miles of happiness.
So thank you, Haverford, for opening up your campus again.
We shall return…
I love that. What a great way to describe a trail. Did you wear your new jeans?

I did not wear my new jeans. I kept them in my climate-controlled closet inside a double insulated garment bag. How else are they going to last 20 years?

When I’m on a treadmill, I sometimes think, “only 2.2 more miles of this misery.”🤣

Looks like a nice place for a nature walk. I don’t know how you Easterners can stand all the greenery, though.

and it’s even worse in the fall when we have to put up with the leaves changing colors…

no need to be jealous when it’s 20 degrees outside and you’ve got a foot of snow to shovel…

You can come visit any time! Being that you are retired and a man of leisure now. 🙂

In fact I have so much time on my hands, I may as well walk over.

Nobody wonders that anymore, in this age of bluetooth phones. It’s the perfect cover for schizophrenics.

and it is one of the more annoying things to me; to hear people talking way to loud on their Bluetooth enabled phone…

Nice to see you also have a great nature trail nearby Jim! Any squirrels or chipmunks along the way? That’s almost as long as my trail which is about 2.5 miles.😀😺🚶♂️

I really did not notice any squirrels or chipmunks, but there were lots of birds…

Always nice to have those birds around singing in the trees.

Looks like a great trail to explore and enjoy. My son and I walk on a nearby greenway trail that is about the same distance. Our pace is one hour to cover the 4 miles out and back. The beauty of the trail helps me keep up the pace.

that’s a pretty good pace! ours was much more leisurely, with stops along the way to check thingsout…
