It Was Deja Vu All Over Again, Thanks to Gaelic Storm

Three years ago I wrote about “The Best Night of Summer 2016, Thanks to Gaelic Storm“, recounting what a perfect summer night my wife, son, and I had at a free concert featuring Gaelic Storm.

Well, tonight they were back in town, putting on another free concert as part of Upper Merion’s Summer Concerts Under the Stars series, and it was deja vu all over again (including stopping at Wawa before the show).

The opening act this year was the Brian Boru Pipes and Drums band, a local bagpipe and drums band. One of the highlights of their act was Amazing Cajun, an upbeat version of Amazing Grace. While I was not able to film this song, here’s a video from a local parade they performed at a couple of years ago:

I was able to capture a brief video of their final song where they march off the stage:

After a brief intermission, it was time for Gaelic Storm. The band was their usual entertaining self; great music, fun lyrics, and lots of audience participation (at one point my son and I had one of our shoes off and were shouting “he brought the light”).

This is our third time to see them perform, twice at the free summer concerts in King of Prussia, and once at the Grand Opera House in Wilmington, DE., and they have yet to disappoint.

I’ll close with one of my favorite Gaelic Storm songs, Don’t Go for the One, about a guy who had one too many and had to face the wrath of his wife when he got home. He has quite the clever excuse, as you will see.

and here is an animated version of the song that I’ve included in a previous post about Gaelic Storm:

If you’re looking for a fun night out featuring some great Irish music and lots of laughs, I highly recommend checking Gaelic Storm’s touring schedule to see if they are coming to a town near you.
