I hadn’t eaten anything for two days, and while I still wasn’t that hungry, I figured I had to eat something. And for some reason the only food that came to mind that I thought I could handle was some Chicken Noodle soup.
As many of you know, I’ve been a vegan for over 15 years, and while there has been the occasional lapse here and there (a waffle in Amsterdam, tea with cream in Singapore, and stealing a half of piece of bacon here and there), I’ve been quite strict about my diet.
So why chicken noodle soup came to mind is beyond me. Perhaps I figured such a meal would provide me with some protein, some carbs, and some liquid. Or maybe it’s an undocumented side effect of COVID.
I will admit it was quite tasty, and my fear that someone from PETA would come banging down the front door did not manifest itself.
Fortunately, I don’t think it was a life-changing event, although when this is all over I might treat myself to a chocolate milkshake…
