My wife and I finally got a chance to watch Crazy Rich Asians, and while it was an enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours, what really stuck with me was the singing of “Can’t Help Falling In Love” by Kina Grannis during the wedding. Here’s an acoustic version, followed by some brief comments by Kina at the end of the song:
It was a beautiful version of the classic Elvis Presley song, and it brought back memories of hearing Ingrid Michaelson perform the song:
And so it made me wonder what other great covers are out there. As you might expect, given how popular the song is, there’s quite a few, and so I thought I’d share a few of my favorites, from reggae to disco to a capella.
Here’s Tyler Joseph of twenty one pilots, playing the ukelele while singing the cover. There’s also some a crowd chiming in along the way. This is the most watched version of the song, with over 118 million views.

And in memory of Elvis, let’s close with his version, still the best of all. Wikipedia notes that during Presley’s late 1960s and 1970s live performances, the song was performed as the show’s finale. Most notably, it was also sung in the live segment of his 1968 NBC television special, and as the closer for his 1973 Global telecast, Aloha from Hawaii. A version with a faster arrangement was the closing number in Presley’s final TV special, Elvis in Concert. “Can’t Help Falling in Love” was also the last song he performed live, at his concert in Indianapolis at Market Square Arena on 26 June 1977.
