I had the chance to see Paul Simon in concert for the first time tonight, with my youngest son, as an early Father’s Day present.
It was phenomenal; it is hard to imagine that Simon is 76 years old. His voice sounds just as good as it did 40 years ago, and he went full out for nearly two and a half hours. Talk about motivating!
I thought I’d share video clips from some of my favorite songs from the evening, in the order that he played the songs.
Bridge Over Troubled Water – this song has extra special meaning for me, as it is the song I played at my one and only orgain recital when I was about 13.

Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes (a song I had written about before)

You Can Call Me Al – this was played right after Diamonds – the two songs were the highlight of the show for me.

Homeward Bound

The Boxer – it was great hearing the audience sing along with this one

And the closing song, quite appropriate for the last song on a farewell tour
