I Guess 181 Weeks In a Row Wasn’t Enough to Make It Part of My Long-Term Memory

I guess I was so excited about my home repair success over the weekend that I couldn’t wait to write a blog post about it.

But what I forgot is that Mondays have always been my day to write about music, at least they had been for 181 weeks in a row until I took my blogging break at the end of March 2022.

And it wouldn’t feel right to write about music on a Tuesday, after all, the amazing Clive has that day wrapped up.

And while it is a bit annoying since it means I have to come up with an extra idea this week to write about, the more concerning thing is the fact that I completely forgot that I always wrote about music on Mondays.

So now I’ll have to try and make next Monday’s post really good to make up for my lapse in judgment. But if my track record is any indication, it’s unlikely that I will be successful in doing so.

But wait – I just realized – missing Music Monday gave me something to write about, so I guess it all evens out in the end 🙂

      1. When I read my blogs, I go through them alphabetically, so I am still fresh when I get to Chasing Unicorns. I feel bad for those blogs near the end of the alphabet, where my responses might get a bit shorter 🙂

  1. Don’t try to compete with Clive. He’s a walking encyclopedia of music knowledge. Still, nobody can match you when it comes to posts about tires.

  2. I see you have lost none of your ability to make something out of nothing! Thank you for the recommendation, and thanks to Pete for backing it up. If you really want to post some music and are having difficulty waiting till Monday, how about trying another day: Wednesday Warblings, maybe? Or Thursday Thongs? Oh, wait…

    1. I’d say it’s more of an ability to make nothing out of nothing 🙂

I don’t think I could handle a change from Music Monday, but thanks for the suggestions 🙂

and your site is an easy one to recommend!

    2. If the delightful Helsinki Complaints Choir was able to turn complaints about anything from missing toilet paper to why do the pretty shirts get ruined in laundry but the ugly shirts never do, then this ability to make something out of nothing should be lauded 🙂

  3. and it is all working out. actually, you forgot to account for your readers’ memories. most of us forgot that monday was the music day, just enjoyed it when we saw it, so nothing to worry about. (I really speak for myself, but am guessing many of us forgot which day)

      1. no, I didn’t mean it that way, just meant that we were fine with seeing it whenever you saw fit, or maybe it’s just me with my fading memory…)

  4. I’m fairly new to your blog, so I’m excited to hear about Monday music. What kind of music do you usually write about? Do we get to listen? If you were to follow my blog, you’d find that 99 percent of the time I include music from You Tube at the end of each post! Because what is life without music? (I always wanted to be a DJ. Maybe in the next life!) Mona

  5. Awesome and makes total sense. After all, Springsteen is a storyteller, too! Can’t wait. Also, satellite radio, FM, TV, playlists or something else? Vinyl, tape or digital? Inquiring mind… 🙂 M

  6. Ah well … you managed to turn a negative into a positive, so all is not lost. You should worry when you forget the simple things, like the word for me and others (we) or the word for that thing you’re sitting on (chair). Then it’s time to worry!
