Good News! There Will Be No Price Increase at Borden’s Blather

The Labor Department said the consumer-price index—which measures what consumers pay for goods and services—increased in October by 6.2% from a year ago. That was the fastest 12-month pace since 1990 and the fifth straight month of inflation above 5%.

Price increases were broad-based, with higher costs for new and used autos, gasoline and other energy costs, furniture, rent, and medical care, the Labor Department said. Food prices for both groceries and dining out rose by the most in decades. Prices fell for airline fares and alcohol.

So what’s the best way to deal with these price increases?

Buy yourself a six-pack of Bud (take advantage of those lower prices), and just settle in and start reading back issues of Borden’s Blather. I’m proud to say that there has never been a price increase in its seven-year history.

I hope to keep that streak going despite demands for an increase in wages from the volatile writing staff, a shortage of qualified writers, and an extreme shortage of inventory…

  3. They’ve even raised the price for compressed air, for filling your car’s tires. So even the cost of inflation has gone up. But thanks for putting a freeze on the cost of your blog. With that kind of attitude, we can Whip Inflation Now, and really WIN.

  6. Best bargain in town! Keep mingling with the “little people.”

    One of my brothers was also a teacher. He lives in Minnesota, and I live in California. As a gag one year, we would send Minnesota air or California water when we did pen pal letters with our classes.

      5. I think he is. She’s currently guesting with the Zac Brown Band – she played with them at the CMA Awards this week and they are opening the show in Atlanta tonight for the Rolling Stones. She is getting noticed!

      11. I managed to listen to most of it yesterday. It’s been three years since her first album so several of the tracks have been released in the interim as singles and are familiar. Overall, on first hearing: I love it!

  21. Wow! I am quite relieved that Borden’s Blather won’t be raising its prices. After all, my grocery bill has been climbing, and the pennies are getting tighter (perhaps an exaggeration). Let’s hope our Roth IRA accounts stay ahead of inflation.

  24. So surprised by liquor and I guess grateful that the prices haven’t increased as dramatically as we all thought they would (at this point) lol… yesterday my husband and I did our typical monthly visit to our local LCBO and found ourselves with a 200$ bill.. all worth it!
