Dusted Off the Old Clubs Today

The headline might be a bit misleading.

I don’t golf. At least what most people think of when they hear the word golf.

But I do like mini-golf, and so does the rest of the Borden family (or at least they say they do).

So today was our inaugural 2021 Mini-Golf outing.

Thankfully, we didn’t keep score, because it wasn’t pretty.

The surface was a bit wet from last night’s rain, and it was a bit windy. So it took me a while to adjust to the conditions.

But the good thing is that it can only get better from here.

P.S. One of the items on my bucket list is to play the mini-golf course featured in Happy Gilmore…

    1. we usually don’t save the cards, unless it was an amazing score but we do look for courses when we travel; we found one in Singapore last year, but did not find one in London a couple of years prior to that (but maybe we didn’t look too hard because the weather was kind of chilly 🙂 )

  5. I just said to my husband this evening that we all need to go mini golfing again! 🙂
    My Dad is a real golfer but he enjoys mini golf too. Growing up we went alot. Fun childhood memories.

  6. Mini-golf is far more relaxing than regular golf to me. For one thing, everybody can putt a golf ball, but swinging all different sizes of clubs takes a lot of skill. I only humiliate myself once every couple of years because my son likes to golf. If it weren’t with him, I’d probably retire the sport. Oh yeah, it’s expensive, too! If I pay a lot of money, I actually want to enjoy myself.

  7. When it comes to mini-golf, I always seem to have the highest score. Rather than feel unaccomplished, I see it as being the most cost effective. In the end, I will have paid less for each stroke than everyone else. Glad you and the family got some quality time out of the house!

  10. I played mini-golf with my grandchildren recently. I scored holes in one on the last two holes. The last hole was quite an amazing feat. I had to do it ‘topsy turvy’, which meant I had to hold the club upside down. I didn’t even think I’d be able to hit the ball. We were all stunned when I got a hole in one. My granddaughter declared that she was going to hold the club like that whenever we play again. (I was the last to play.)
    Also at that centre, they had foot golf, which requires kicking a soccer ball over the course of 9 holes. Hub and the children did that. I declined. Both children are keen soccer players so they enjoyed the activity. Granddaughter said it was her favourite activity during the holiday.
