the Eagles defeat the Patriots!
I can’t imagine anyone was counting on the Eagles to win today, but as they say, that’s why you play the game.
I’m also sure that there were a lot of nervous Eagles fans after the Patriots came back from being down 35-14 to make it 35-28 and then recovered an Eagles fumble with about a minute to go. But somehow the Eagles managed to shut down the incomparable Tom Brady and hold on for the win.
Not to brag or anything, but I had foreshadowed this a bit the other day when I wrote about the Sixers first victory of the season, and how that win may have given the Philly Sports teams just the spark they needed to start winning some games.
Here is the quote from that story:
Perhaps this is just what the city needed, and now the Eagles can head into Foxborough on Sunday and keep the streak going (insert canned laughter).
If only I hadn’t added that canned laughter thing at the end…
Oh well; I’ll gladly take the Eagles victory, even if I can’t claim that I told you so.
