An Ideal Birthday

happybirthday

Today I turned 58 and it turned out to be a great day.

I got to spend the day with my family, and nothing beats that.

The day started with the usual Sunday routine of my wife and I going to early Mass followed by a trip to Planet Fitness, and then coffee and bagels from Dunkin’ Donuts at my mom and aunt’s house.

The afternoon began with our traditional Father’s Day and my birthday miniature golf tournament with my wife and two of our sons. One of our sons even had the nerve to beat me on my birthday.

Then it was time for a quick trip to Whole Foods to pick up a couple vegan donuts.

When we got home we had a video chat with our oldest son, who lives in Raleigh.

We then went back to my mom and aunt’s house where we watched the Eagles-Cowboys game and ordered some pizza from Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza.

When we got home we ended the evening by playing Hit or Miss.

It was a series of ordinary events, but when you put them all together, it made for an extraordinary day.

So thank you to my family for making it such a special day.

And thank you to all who sent me happy birthday messages; they are much appreciated.
